Privacy Policy
PartyLink ("we", "us", or "our") operates the PartyLink party-game platform: a PC acts as the game host while phones on the same local network act as controllers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, the PartyLink desktop app, the phone controller app, and related services (together, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated as you use the Service, and limited technical information needed to run it securely.
Information you provide
- Account information. When you register, we collect your email address (used for login and account-related messages) and the nickname you choose. Your password is transmitted in encrypted form and stored only as a salted hash — we never store plaintext passwords. If you sign in with a third-party provider (currently QQ, Weibo, Google, Microsoft, or Apple), we receive from that provider the identifier for your account and, where the provider offers one, your verified email address and display name, to create or link your PartyLink account.
- Profile information. You may optionally provide an avatar, a birth date, and a language preference.
- Purchase and license information. When you buy a game, we record the purchase, the license issued, and refunds if any. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number.
- Developer information. If you register as a game developer to receive payouts, identity verification (real name and identification number) is collected and handled through Stripe's identity services as required for financial compliance.
Information collected automatically
- Device and connection information. We generate a device fingerprint for your installation and collect your IP address, platform (e.g., Windows, macOS, iOS, Android), app version, and language to operate the Service securely and to prevent abuse, fraud, and account theft. We also resolve the country or region associated with your connection (based on your IP address) to localize content, comply with regional rules, and share region-relevant context with games you play.
- Location information. In addition to the region derived from your IP address above, we may, where you enable it and where supported, collect more precise location from your device (for example, native device location services) to power location-aware game experiences. You can control this through your device and app permissions.
- Game and usage data. We track which games you purchase, download, and launch, plus aggregated statistics such as play counts that may appear publicly in the store catalog.
- Server logs. Our servers record routine technical logs (timestamps, requested endpoints, status codes) to maintain security and reliability.
2. What Stays on Your Local Network
PartyLink is designed so a party stays in the room. The following happens only between your devices over your local Wi-Fi and is not uploaded to our servers:
- Local pairing between phones and the PC (QR code / discovery);
- Controller input events (buttons, joystick, touchpad, motion sensors, drawing) streamed from phones to the PC while a game is running;
- In-game messages and state shared among players of the same local game.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your account and verify your identity;
- To provide the Service: authenticating requests, issuing licenses, delivering game packages, and running the store;
- To process purchases and refunds and to settle developer payouts;
- To send service-related messages such as registration codes, receipts, refund notices, and account security alerts;
- To protect the Service against abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access through request signing, rate limiting, and device fingerprinting;
- To improve the Service through aggregate statistics (for example, game popularity rankings);
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following limited circumstances:
- Payment and identity processors. Stripe processes your payments and, for developers, identity verification (KYC). Their use of your data is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
- Sign-in providers. When you choose to sign in through QQ, Weibo, Google, Microsoft, or Apple, that provider shares with us the limited profile information you authorize (identifier and, where available, verified email and display name), subject to that provider's own privacy policy and your consent choices there.
- Game developers. Games you play are provided by third-party developers. To make a game work and deliver a good experience, we share with the game developer the limited information needed for the session — such as your in-game player id, nickname, avatar, and the country/region of the host machine — so the game can render correctly, localize content, and manage the room. Games cannot see your email address, password, payment details, or other account credentials.
- Email delivery providers. To deliver account-related emails on our behalf.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, a court order, or a valid governmental request, or when necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transitions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
Our website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use browser local storage to remember lightweight preferences (such as your language choice) and to keep you signed in, and the apps store session and license data locally so they can work offline. You can clear this data through your browser or app settings at any time.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted transport (HTTPS) for all communication with our servers;
- Signed requests and signed responses to detect tampering;
- Hashed and salted password storage;
- Encrypted game packages with keys delivered per-device;
- Access controls on our infrastructure and staff.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account remains active. Purchase, license, and financial records are kept as long as legally required (for example, for tax and anti-fraud purposes). When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information unless we are legally required to keep it, and we may retain aggregated, non-identifying statistics.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Delete your personal information and account;
- Export or receive a copy of your data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
You can update most account information in your profile settings, and you can delete your account from within the Service or by contacting us at the address below. We will respond to requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
